ST. CATHARINES, ONTARIO – Sunset Grill commits to doing their part in the St. Catharines community and will donate 50 meals to Niagara Health on Friday May 1 to help feed frontline workers.

Dave Morrow, franchise owner of the Sunset Grill located across the road from Niagara Health hospital at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and First Street Louth in St. Catharines, Ont., spearheaded the initiative.

“I thought it was necessary to give back to the community and show my support to the healthcare workers who are keeping us all safe,” said Morrow.

This is not the first time Morrow has stepped up to help the St. Catharines community. Every year for Easter and Thanksgiving, he donates 10 per cent of sales to Niagara Health and has also partnered with Pathstone Mental Health to support children’s mental health initiatives, in addition to organizing local food drives.

This time, he’s decided to do his part to help frontline workers.

He is joined by Sunset Grill franchise owners across the province who have donated food to help support their communities during the global COVID-19 pandemic that has dramatically impacted the foodservice industry.

Sunset Grill Restaurants Ltd. Head Office was swift to respond to the news of COVID-19 and put the safety of staff and guests first with the announcement of extra sanitization measures on March 13 and the voluntary closure of its dining rooms on March 16.

The chain continues to offer call ahead and pick-up takeout services at participating locations with payment being accepted at the door in addition to contactless delivery.
