Sunset Grill’s Commitment to Choice and Quality

At Sunset Grill, we take pride in serving high-quality, made-to-order breakfast and lunch. As part of our commitment to food safety, animal welfare, and the evolving preferences of our guests, we are pleased to share our roadmap for egg sourcing in partnership with Canada’s dedicated egg farmers.

Rigorous Standards, Every Day

We want our guests to know that every egg served at Sunset Grill comes from farms that follow national standards. All hens on Canadian egg farms are cared for and housed in barns by farmers who follow rigorous food safety standards. Canadian egg farmers operate under the Egg Quality Assurance™ (EQA®) program, which includes:

  • Mandatory Animal Care: Rigorous inspections based on the National Farm Animal Care Council’s (NFACC) Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Pullets and Laying Hens.
  • Start Clean-Stay Clean®: A national food safety program ensuring the highest quality from farm to table.
  • Third-Party Audits & Inspections: Ongoing oversight to maintain the highest levels of integrity.

Our Path Forward

In alignment with the Canadian egg sector’s voluntary commitment to move away from conventional housing by 2036, Sunset Grill is working closely with our suppliers to ensure real progress is made towards this goal and Canadian families continue to have access to a range of choices. We are proud to support a transition that is grounded in the latest research on sustainability and hen housing best practices.
