Meet the Team


Sunset Grill CEO Angelo Christou immigrated to Canada from Greece when he was 7 years old and racked up more than 10,000 hours in the restaurant industry by the time he was 22. With the help of his parents, he opened the first Sunset Grill back in 1985 with a small 28-seat restaurant in the Beaches area of Toronto, Ontario. When he regularly had line-ups out the door for his Famous All-Day Breakfast™️, he knew he was onto something.

For Angelo, the Sunset Grill brand has always been about quality. He meticulously chooses the best product for our menu and teaches his cooks the healthiest food preparation methods. His passion is unwavering. It’s a value he’s passed onto his Sunset Grill family – including his own two sons, Nick and Matthew, who work as District Managers for the brand. When Angelo’s not hard at work, he enjoys travelling the world and exploring different cultures; California will always be his second home.

Dino Erodotou is Sunset Grill’s Director of Operations has more than 20 years’ experience in the restaurant industry. He’s our go-to guy when it comes to vendor relations and operations at the store level. He manages our team of District Managers and works alongside Angelo to implement new technologies and programs for our franchisees.

Dino is a proud dad of four little ones, a soccer buff and he’s always able to make us laugh with his quirky sense of humour.

Vanessa Divers is Sunset Grill’s Manager of Digital Marketing & Communications. She joined the team more than three years ago and has helped grow our online presence by creating Sunset Grill’s social media channels and interacting with our incredible fans. She comes from a journalism / photography background and enjoys storytelling.

Vanessa is our go-to person when it comes to helping franchisees promote community events through online channels, writing press releases, running digital ads, or really anything that has to do with technology. She’s an outgoing concert buff who loves rabbits, flip flops and has a not-so-secret obsession with Animal Crossing.

Sarah is our delightful Office Manager. Whether it’s responding to guest feedback, keeping our franchisees up-to-date, managing databases, or keeping our office stocked, she’s our rock.

Fun fact: She’s only ever had ONE sip of coffee in her life, and that was because she thought it was her tea. She has a couple of fur babies – Shadow, a Lab/Shepherd mix (who’s a huge suck, by the way), and a sassy Siamese/mix cat named Cleo. Sarah loves to bake (we always look forward to her Christmas cookies!) and has more recently fallen in love with gardening.

Nicoleta is our Financial Controller and takes care of all things dollars and cents for Sunset Grill. She has more than 20 years’ experience running accounting/financial departments and knows how to get things done. If you’re lucky enough to work with her, you may even get a fun nickname out of the deal.

Nicoleta’s mom is her biggest role model. One of her proudest accomplishments in her life was moving to Canada and being able to start over from scratch. She has two teenagers at home, loves to read and enjoys riding her bike on warm summer mornings.

Nick and Matthew Christou are the District Managers for Toronto, GTA, northern Ontario, Alberta and New Brunswick Sunset Grill locations. They’re also Angelo’s sons, and the future of the brand. They’ve been working at Sunset Grill in various capacities for as long as they can remember.

Nick is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. He’s helped open more than 40 Sunset Grill locations, and is always there to answer any questions our franchisees may have.

When it comes to inspiration, he looks to his father. “My father inspires me. I want to continue what he has started. I also want to work hard to live the best life I possibly can,” he says.

Fun fact: Nick used to take drumming lessons for years and wanted to be a rock star when he was a kid.

Matthew is an Assistant District Manager. He’s worked on the line in our kitchens for years, and brings a fresh perspective to our office. When he’s not doing his rounds at the restaurants, he enjoys playing video games and spending time at the cottage.

Josh Davidson is the District Manager for southwestern Ontario as well as Sunset Grill’s Franchise Development Manager and has been helping expand the brand for the past couple of years. He has almost 15 years’ experience in the hospitality industry working in various capacities.

Josh enjoys staying active and is always on the go. He’s an avid golfer and loves his hockey. He’s also a huge Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter and Star Wars fan. He has one of the biggest nerd collections you’ll (probably) ever come across: replica weapons from the movies, Gandalf’s staff, a chess set from Harry Potter and almost the entire Funko Pop! Star Wars collection.
